Physical Therapy Telehealth Patient Testimonial

You now have a choice. Whether you choose physical therapy in our clinic or in your home, the goal is the same: to help you reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore your body’s functional abilities.

By connecting with a Memorial Hermann physical therapist online, through a secure video chat, you can recover from injuries or pain without leaving home. Physical therapy telehealth provides:

  • Easy access to licensed Memorial Hermann physical therapists
  • Seamless technology with a secure video connection
  • Convenience of staying home and avoiding travel time

Here’s how the experience is going, in the patient’s own words:

“I’ve had chronic lower back pain for years. With the pandemic, I’m not ready to go back to the clinic, but honestly, with telehealth, the experience at home is as just as good. You don’t need any equipment. If you have a chair in your home, you are all set.

Caitlyn [physical therapist] and I work together just like we are face-to-face with each other. We talked about the problems I’m having, and she put together a program to work on ways for me to get stronger and not hurt as much. It’s just like she did when I saw her in person in the past.

It’s easy to do, and the transition from going into the clinic to doing PT at home has gone smoothly. I’m improving, and with Caitlyn’s help I know I’ll reach my goal of having endurance to be able to stand for long periods of time and go for long walks.”

-Kim M, age 58

Virtual appointments allow Memorial Hermann physical therapists to provide exceptional care, in a format that is convenient for patients.

“Telehealth is working great. Patients see right away that with a few modifications, virtual appointments take care of everything they need. We can tailor a program using just your body, or we can include things you have around the house. It’s easy to get creative.

I am relieved to still be able to provide patients the care they need, even though some can’t come into the clinic. So much of it is about taking the time to talk to and connect with patients to figure out what’s wrong, and coming up with goals for their specific program.

For some patients, I think this will be the new norm going forward. So many people have busy work schedules or conflicts with their kids that don’t allow them to come in, physically. Telehealth lets them work this into their day.”
